Building a Perfect Audience Through Social Media

Social media has become an undeniable goliath in today’s world. This comes with a host of both positives and negatives, with many arguing that the world has both progressed and worsened with its advent. Although one thing is undeniable, people are making a living off of social media.

Content creators have moved ahead of rock stars and astronauts as the dream job for children. The fame, the money, the fun and high amount of experiences that all come from content creation, it’s not hard to understand why anyone would want to enter that world.

Although it’s exactly because of the high value of people that want to be a content creator that it’s so hard to become one. Most think it’s just a matter of luck, a matter of getting that one perfect post that blows up, but that’s not really true. Content creators are valued for their loyal audiences and the amount of eyes they have on them.

A creator with one hit and no loyal fans is worth far less than the smaller creator with a devoted fanbase. This is why building a consistent base should be the move of any aspiring content creator. The way this is done can be conceptualized through three major phases, each consisting of some smaller elements.

The Phases of Building a Perfect Audience

The first phase is all about foundation. Here a creator wants to build a foundation through an understanding of the environment and being sensitive to their demographics. In this phase a creator will want to carve out their type of content, cast out a wide net, and see what works by analyzing the data.

Phase two then consists of tone and timing. Here once the foundation is set the creator can then focus on refining their content. This can be done through the tone and timing of the content. The tone is what message the content is giving off, how is it receiving the audience, is it consistent? These are the kinds of questions to be asked. Timing is understanding when to release content and gaining control over one’s content through time.

The final phase, phase three, consists of the creator’s emotions. The content should now be clear, somewhat refined, and consistent. The creator can ruin this though by letting their emotional reactions eat them alive. A creator must learn to take criticism, to learn and progress without taking it all to heart.

In Conclusion

In the final phase, the creator must again commit to consistency. Working with trends can be useful and is important, but at the end of the day a good content creator is watched for good content and the creator of that content. To build a base through finding a perfect audience,  one must become someone people watch for them.
