Ekta Kapoor’s post about Sayantani and Radhika Madan.

Radhika, in a recent interview, recalled working 48-50 hours a shift during her years as a TV actor. She said whenever she asked for the script, she was told, “Aap set pe chalo, script garma garam aa rahi hai (You just reach the sets, script will be freshly printed)”. She said directors used to make changes at last minute and whichever director was free, he would come to shoot. Radh also said that whenever she had anything to say about her character, she was told by the director that they would think about it when they make a film, and not a TV serial.

Sayantani had reacted to the interview on Instagram and was recently asked about it during an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan. She said, “We also have Mouni Roy, she is a dear friend of mine, and in the interviews I have listened, there is a certain grace that she began her career from TV, that I didn’t find in Radhika’s clip. She and many others look down upon TV, you shouldn’t do that, I feel. My problem is don’t treat TV as a stepping stone.”

Several TV actors also reacted to Sayantani’s comments on Radhika. “Well said,” commented Anita Hassanandani. Karanvir Bohra said, “Well said @sayantanighosh0609 what she said wasnt wrong, but the way she said was demeaning ….. @radhikamadan you should have been a Lil more sensitive about this…aapko kya lagta hai, filmo mein aibe nahi hai (What do you think? Making films comes without all this)?” Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya said, “Sayantani I completely agree with your views and admire the way you have addressed the issue.” Actor Nilu Kohli said, “After working in films, I realize that they also have a timeline and not all films can spend ‘days’ discussing a scene.and only because actors like ‘us’ from TV are used to it, we perform under all conditions!!We TV actors know our job and am proud of this!”

Radhika’s latest release was Aasman Bharadwaj’s Kuttey with Arjun Kapoor and Tabu. Sayantani is known for TV series like Ghar Ek Sapnaa and Naagin.

Swastika opened up about her arranged marriage and her daughter in a recent chat with RJ Stutee. When asked why she ‘got married very early’, and if that was her decision, the actor replied, “No, it was an arranged marriage.”

When asked if she regretted it (the arranged marriage) or it made her angry with her parents, Swastika said, “I don’t regret it at all because the moment I think about that I could have lived my life without it (the marriage), then I think that Anwesha (her daughter) would have not been there. And that thought just leaves my existence as fast as Flash (American comic strip superhero from DC Comics). So, I am eternally grateful to the universe that she (Anwesha) is there in my life. Otherwise, I would have been a wreck (without her) because this profession has its own struggle, which is very real.”

Main Khiladi features Akshay, Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt and Diana in glammed-up avatars. Almost a dance-off challenge, the song comes alive with their goofy expressions and smooth moves. It’s sung by Udit Narayan and Abhijeet Bhattacharya, with the original lyrics by Maya Govind and music by Anu Malik.

The original track is from the 1994 movie of the same name. It featured Akshay alongside Saif. Main Khiladi is the latest music recreated by Tanishk Bagchi who is known for his Bollywood remixes. Sharing the new song, Akshay wrote, “Lights, camera, naacho (dance)! Main Khiladi full songOut now. Selfiee in cinemas from February 24.”

Reacting to the song, a user wrote in the comments section of Akshay’s Instagram Reels, “Imagine what will happen in the theatre when this song played goosebumps moments.” Another fan commented, “You are never getting old.” Someone else also said, “Akki’s (Akshay’s)) expressions and energy is irreplaceable, he just nailed the performance the OG Khiladi is back.”

Selfiee is directed by Raj Mehta. It is the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License, which starred Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in lead roles. In the Hindi adaptation, Akshay plays the role of a superstar while Emraan, his biggest fan, appears as a cop. The two are seen at loggerheads after Akshay lost his driving license.

Akshay and Emraan end up challenging each other. While Akshay says he will get the license anyhow, Emraan says he will have to get the document just like a ‘common man’. It’s touted to be an action drama. It’s also the first collaboration between Akshay and Emraan.

The film is backed by the late Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Supriya Menon, Karan Johar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Apoorva Mehta, and Listin Stephen. It is slated to release in theatres on February 24, 2023.
