Struggling Bed Bath & Beyond Closing 87 More Stores

Published

on

Bed Bath & Beyond is becoming a symbol of the saying ‘get woke and go broke.’

The chain of home furnishing stores has been struggling financially ever since they decided to stop carrying MyPillow products over the politics of the company’s founder, Mike Lindell.

Now they are going to close another 87 stores.

Bed Bath & Beyond announces 87 more store closures

Bed Bath & Beyond told Nexstar Monday that it will be closing 87 additional stores, an announcement that comes days after the beleaguered home goods chain said it had defaulted on its loans.

The company also plans to close five buybuy BABY stores as well as all of its Harmon beauty locations.

Bed Bath & Beyond said the closures are being done to increase efficiency as the company works with advisors to “consider multiple paths” as the retailer tries to turn the business around.

“This store fleet reduction expands the Company’s ongoing closure program of approximately 150 lower-producing Bed Bath & Beyond banner stores,” a spokesperson told Nexstar. “We will update all stakeholders on our plans as they develop and finalize.”

Impacted store locations were not immediately available Monday.

Last Thursday, Bed Bath & Beyond said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it had defaulted on its loans, which may force it to consider restructuring its debt in bankruptcy court.

The filing included some of the other strategies Bed Bath & Beyond is employing to improve its financial position, such as lowering costs, trimming capital expenditures, trying to rework rental deals with landlords and reducing the footprint of its stores, as well as the caveat that “these measures may not be successful.”

They made a big mistake.

Imagine if Mike Lindell bought the company.

That would be a very funny ending to this story.

BASED: UFC Fighter Holly Holm Calls Out the Sexualization of Children (VIDEO)

Published

on

Mixed martial arts and UFC fighter Holly Holm used her post-fight moments tonight to call out the sexualization of children.

She said: “I feel like I have the platform to say it, I need to say it. I just feel it’s really sad, all the sexualization of our children right now and we need to protect them. Whatever that may be, let’s protect the children.”

Watch below:

People were impressed with her message:

Holm won her fight tonight.

MM Mania reported:

UFC San Antonio results: Holly Holm dominates Yana Santos with her wrestling

Holly Holm and Yana Santos squared off in a women’s Bantamweight contest earlier tonight (Sat., March 25, 2023) at UFC San Antonio from inside AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. In a strong showing, Holm won every round.

It took less than 10 seconds for Santos to double up on the right hand and crash into the clinch. The two jockeyed for position along the fence, reversing back-and-forth for a couple of minutes. They broke apart, Santos threw just a couple kicks, and then Holm initiated the clinch.

Yup, it was going to be that kind of fight. There were a couple more occasions were the two separated, but the kickboxing exchanges never lasted for terribly long. In the final minute, Holm started landed some good shots, and a slip from Santos landed her in top position.

Wouldn’t it be nice if more athletes spoke out like she did tonight?

House Republicans Respond to Alvin Bragg’s Nasty Reply Letter

Published

on

House Republicans Jordan, Comer and Steil responded to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on Saturday.

Alvin Bragg on Thursday lashed out at House Republicans and blamed Trump for starting rumors about his imminent arrest.

President Trump earlier this week said he would be arrested on Tuesday in a pair of Truth Social posts.

House Republicans immediately launched an investigation into DA Alvin Bragg, accusing him of abusing his power.

Trump has been accused of paying Daniels ‘hush payments’ through his then-attorney Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg elevated the Stormy ‘hush payment’ case from a misdemeanor to a felony earlier this year in a effort to ‘get Trump.’

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil on Monday sent Bragg a letter demanding testimony and documents related to his investigation into the ‘hush payment’ after Trump said his arrest was imminent.

“Your letter … is an unprecedent inquiry into a pending local prosecution. The letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene,” District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office wrote in the letter House Republicans Jordan, Comer and Steil.

Bragg, who is trying to prosecute a federal matter out of the state of New York, had the gall to claim the House GOP probe is an overreach into local matters.

“The letter’s requests are an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty,” Bragg’s office said.

Reps. Jim Jordan, James Comer and Bryan Steil responded to Bragg in an eight page letter.

“Notably, your reply letter did not dispute the central allegations at issue—that you, under political pressure from left-wing activists and former prosecutors in your office, are reportedly planning to use an alleged federal campaign finance violation, previously declined by federal prosecutors, as a vehicle to extend the statute of limitations on an otherwise misdemeanor offense and indict for the first time in history a former President of the United States. Moreover, you are apparently attempting to upgrade a misdemeanor charge to a felony using an untested legal theory at the same time when you are simultaneously downgrading felony charges to misdemeanors in a majority of other cases in your jurisdiction.” the House Republicans wrote.

“Contrary to the central argument set forth in your letter, this matter does not simply involve local or state interests. Rather, the potential criminal indictment of a former President of the United States by an elected local prosecutor of the opposing political party (and who will face the prospect of re-election) implicates substantial federal interests, particularly in a jurisdiction where trial-level judges also are popularly elected,” they wrote.

Jordan, Comer and Steil told Alvin Bragg he has until March 31 to comply with their demands.

Trump Gets Defended From Alvin Bragg Prosecution by … Andrew Cuomo?

Published

on

When it comes to the Alvin Bragg prosecution, Trump has found an unlikely defender in former New York governor and Democrat, Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo said that the case is all about politics, and obviously he is right. It’s just surprising to hear such a common sense opinion coming from someone who has been so openly critical of Trump.

It’s possible that there are lots of other Democrats who know this in their hearts, but can’t say it out loud.

FOX News reports:

Andrew Cuomo blasts Manhattan DA Bragg’s Trump probe: ‘I think it’s all politics’

Former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over his focus on potentially prosecuting former President Donald Trump and suggested the move is politically motivated.

“I don’t understand why Bragg is putting such emphasis on this case,” the former governor told WABC Radio on Friday night.

“A person breaks the law I get it, but on the state side this is a misdemeanor case. It’s really a federal case because he needs it to be a campaign finance fraud case which is a federal case and that’s what Bragg is going to have to do to get a felony out of this.”

Cuomo said that the public is generally “cynical” and “when they see prosecutors bringing these political cases” it just “affirms everybody’s cynicism.”

“I think it’s all politics and that’s what I think the people of this country are saying,” Cuomo continued. “It just feeds that anger and that cynicism and the partisanship. It’s a coincidence that Bragg goes after Trump and Tish James goes after Trump and Georgia goes after Trump? That’s all a coincidence? I think it feeds the cynicism and that’s the cancer in our body politic right now.”

Who had this on their Bingo card? Anyone?

Congratulations to Mr. Cuomo for getting something right.
